Tracing is the investigation
Tracing brings together the symptoms, pipe layout and suitable tests to establish where water may be escaping. Thermal cameras, acoustic listening and tracer gas all answer different questions. The method should fit the system and access, and the findings should explain why a particular area needs further investigation.
Access is reaching the source
A concealed pipe cannot always be repaired from the surface. Access may mean lifting a limited section, opening an agreed area or excavating around a buried supply. It should be supported by the evidence and explained before proceeding. Non-invasive detection aims to reduce unnecessary opening; it does not mean access will never be needed.
Repair and reinstatement are different
Repairing a leaking joint or damaged pipe restores the plumbing within the agreed scope. Reinstatement restores the surrounding building finishes, such as tiles, plaster, flooring, paint or paving. The Leak Seaker offer includes the necessary plumbing access and repair, while decorative and remedial reinstatement is excluded.
The written record connects the stages
A Trace & Access report explains the relevant findings and what followed. It helps a homeowner or insurer understand the rationale for access and the repair performed. Keep the report alongside the invoice and warranty information, and check your policy before assuming every stage can be reimbursed.
