Consider the timing carefully
Water appearing after rain may suggest building ingress; water appearing after bathing or heating may suggest an internal source. These are useful clues but not conclusive proof. A roof void can contain plumbing, and water may take time to reach the visible stain.
Avoid unsafe inspection
Do not climb onto a roof or enter an unsafe loft to investigate a leak. Safe photographs and a timeline of events can provide useful information. If a ceiling is unstable or electrical fittings are wet, keep away and arrange appropriate urgent assistance.
Test the relevant theory
A plumbing-led investigation considers nearby systems and suitable checks. If findings point to roofing, flashing, gutters or another building-fabric issue, a relevant specialist may be required. Clear boundaries prevent a pipe-repair service being mistaken for a roof-repair package.
Arrange the right follow-up
Our residential offer covers the agreed plumbing investigation, access and repair, with an Written Trace & Access report. Roofing, building waterproofing, drying and reinstatement are separate. Use the findings to direct the next trade rather than repeatedly treating the visible stain.
