The floor build-up matters
Concrete, screed, insulation and membranes can influence the movement of heat, moisture and tracer gas. The surface symptom may appear some distance from the pipe. Plans or photographs from construction help explain the layers and avoid assumptions about the route.
Establish the affected system
A heating loop, incoming main and domestic water feed may need different tests. Identifying the suspect section is important before selecting a search area. Suitable pressure checks and other methods are interpreted together to justify the next step.
Access follows the evidence
Once a location is supported, the engineer explains the necessary opening for confirmation and repair. Unknown services and structural constraints must be considered. The objective is a proportionate access area, not a promise that every concealed defect can be repaired through a tiny hole.
Plan the floor finish separately
The Leak Seaker package includes necessary access and the agreed plumbing repair. Decorative and remedial reinstatement, including the final floor finish, is excluded. Keep details of flooring products and installation requirements for the contractor completing that separate stage.
