Continuous and use-related leaks behave differently
A pressurised feed may leak even when the bathroom is unused. A waste, overflow or shower enclosure may release water only under particular use conditions. Note which fixture was used, when water appeared and whether the pattern repeats.
Avoid repeatedly recreating a damaging leak
Safe observations and photographs are helpful, but do not keep running water to prove a problem while the building is being damaged. Controlled testing should be planned around the suspected route and what can be observed safely.
A new bead of sealant is not a universal diagnosis
Seal failures can cause leaks, but resealing will not repair a concealed supply or waste connection. Equally, opening a wall to look for a pipe fault may be inappropriate if the evidence points to a surface waterproofing detail. The test sequence should distinguish the possibilities.
Match the remedy to the finding
The plumbing repair is included for an agreed residential plumbing job. Rebuilding waterproofing, retiling and replacing finishes are separate. A written explanation helps you arrange the right follow-up work instead of repeating a repair that did not address the cause.
